On 17 June, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on the site of Werkbank 32. The Wäscherei was colorfully decorated with a wreath and carpenter Thomas Donner and his entire team with Lord Mayor Ralf Schreiber, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Mahn, Vice Rector Research of the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida and Michael Schlagenhaufer, Member of the Board of Directors of Volksbank Mittweida could toast to the completion of the roof framework and the shell of the building. The wine glass used for toasting shattered on the floor and the obligatory nail, which is supposed to hold the whole house together, was hammered into the symbolic roof beam without difficulty by Raymond Uhlig, who is significantly involved in the implementation of Werkbank 32.
The Wäscherei is going to be equipped with innovative and agile co-working sections, event areas, offices for start-ups and a digital laboratory. A first, official insight into the furnished premises of the Wäscherei will be given during the last week of September. The shattering of the wine glass after the topping-out ceremony predicts a positive continuous construction progress. Therefore, further updates on the progress of the Wäscherei will follow shortly.
